 Perpetual Trust Ltd was established in 1884 and exists under its own Act of Parliament. Perpetual Trust focuses on providing excellent quality service, backed by significant experience and high calibre people.
Perpetual Trust is the only completely New Zealand owned authorised trustee company and is owned by NZX-listed Pyne Gould Corporation.
Perpetual Trust has agreed to act as Trustee of the tax pooling deposits. The role of the Trustee is to act as an independent controller of the monies received and the transfer of any tax payments within the IRD.
Key responsibilities are to:
- Maintain a trust account under the sole control of the Trustee and independent of Provisional Tax Finance Ltd through which all payments by taxpayers will be made.
- Hold certain monies on trust for the benefit of parties defined and subject to certain terms and conditions of the Trust Deed.
- Ensuring that instructions are given to the Inland Revenue to transfer tax deposits to the appropriate taxpayer when the corresponding monies have been received in cleared funds.
